DESTINATION COROMANDEL
,
the region’s marketing agency,
is searching for video and photo footage to help promote the
peninsula. They have partnered with outdoor retailer Torpedo 7
who are offering monthly prizes for the best videos. Meanwhile
the best photographers will be invited back to capture The
Coromandel on camera during autumn.
The NZ tourism industry is anticipating its busiest summer
on record. Visitors and locals are encouraged to ‘Explore The
Coromandel’, shoot their favourite spots and tag #goodforyoursoul
when sharing them.
Anyone capturing video content is encouraged to submit a 30
second clip to go in the draw for a monthly outdoor prize. Prizes
include a 2 room tent, single kayak, SUP board and women’s retro
bike. There will also be a family holiday and GoPro HERO4 Silver
for the video that best captures the ‘good for your soul’ vibe.

Whangamata surf champion Ella Williams
is getting broad coverage these days.
In mid-January, she announced on her
Facebook page after winning the Open
Women’s NZ National title that she was
“Over the moon with HAPPINESS!!!”
It’s no wonder. “I have dreamed of getting
that title since I was seven years old” says
Ella. Ever since I have been going in comps,
I have wanted to get my hands on this
trophy. It has always been a tough challenge
with the good surfers coming through,
so to finally get it caps off a great week”.
Now she is looking forward to international
competition.

seven cliffs and jumping off a few as well!
Wow what a day, cannot believe this patch
