New beginnings, fresh starts, reaffirmations

resolutions and promises for a brighter future –

all come to mind as we ring in a New Year.

I am determined to follow my New Year’s

resolution to work less, love more and have a

whole lot more fun!

The fun started with an excuse to share our

beautiful peninsula with a friend from overseas

– just what the doctor ordered. A highlight

was our trip on the Hahei Explorer – perfect

day, perfect tides, Cathedral Cove, caves and

the awesome blowhole – what a blast! We

also took her to the top of Paku to enjoy the

stunning panoramic view (see below).

And to update you on the personal side.

2015 – helluva year! Hearing the ‘C’ word in

reference to one’s self has a tendency to turn

your world upside down. But we humans are

lucky to be so adaptable and that’s what the

situation demands. And optimism. More and

more people are bucking this thing that used

to be considered a death sentence, setting a

new precedent for the rest of us. And that is

my ‘good intention’.

Fortunately I am surrounded by wonderful

caring people and talented healers, both

traditional and alternative. I spent six weeks

at Waikato Cancer Centre in November

undergoing radiation and chemo. Everyone I

met was so caring and compassionate which

certainly helped the process. Adding to the

stress, I developed a severe allergy to the

chemo so I definitely appreciated that extra

support and understanding.

I am learning so much and have so much

more compassion and admiration for my sister

and her brave journey (Dee passed away 8

years ago from breast cancer).

The ride has been rough at times, but I feel

I am making progress. And I am thankful to

report that the radiation is doing its job and I

have been feeling better the past few weeks

– well enough to finish this issue – thank you

God! I know I want (and need) to slow down

though, and I will be looking for talented

individuals in several areas – marketing, sales,

writing, distribution, design... I know you are

out there!

To a healthy and happy 2016 –

Kia Ora...

Greg & Tovi, with friend Sue

Shaefer, enjoy a gorgeous Summer

day in the Hahei Explorer that

included this stop at the ‘blow hole’.

New Year’s Day now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions.

Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual.
