“Miss Coromandel Peninsula” competition

caps off the 2015 Summer Beach Festival

On 11th January Matarangi Beach will host

Miss Coromandel Peninsula 2015 thanks

to the support of Flight Centre Thames and

Coromandel FM.

The winning contestants and the runners up

from several Coromandal communities will

compete for the Peninsula-wide crown. In

addition a few other competions will be held

including one for the littlies...boys and girls!

The winning beauty will receive a trip for two to

the Gold Coast, which includes return airfares

for two, three nights’ accommodation in Surfers

Paradise and return airport transfers from Flight

Centre Thames.

Organiser Bronwyn Burkhart tells us that the

newly renovated Puka Park in Pauanui was

delighted to offer the runner-up two nights

accomodation in a Tawa Tree Hut. “It’s a

romantic luxurious chalet with breakfast and

dinner at their Miha Restaurant. Other prizes

and sponsors are looking impressive, too.”

Bronwyn says the judging panel thus far

includes “a fashion designer, an interntional

model and a well-known sports personality”.

Be sure to attend your own area’s

competition to cheer on the local beauties:

Miss Whangamata,

29th December 2pm, Surf Club

Miss Whitianga,

30th December, 4pm, Whitianga Hotel

Miss Pauanui,

There are actually a handful of competitions that day. Kids have their own turn on the runway. Here
