“The boys would arrive at the footy field on a
Saturday morning, and we’d put a scrum down
in case there were any new players before the
game. Charles Beach (pictured) was the selector
on the day, making sure all got a turn on the
field”. Bill smiles and adds, “Those pine trees
on the south boundary–they were our changing
sheds back then”.
