THE COLVILLE
GENERAL STORE
Step back in time and experience shopping
as it used to be. Our old fashioned ‘General
Store’ offers general grocery items, including
a good selection of gluten and dairy free
items, as well as a wide range of camping,
fishing and automotive supplies.
We feel strongly about working together as
a community so we have local produce and
manuka honey on our shelves. We believe in
protecting the world we inhabit, so we offer
organic produce and products whenever we
can, at competitive prices.
If you are heading north for a few day’s stay,
we are the last stop on the peninsula for
stocking up on supplies and fuel, so don’t
pass us by!
07-866 6805
offering meditation, courses and retreats in
Buddhist philosophy and practice.
After arriving in Colville, meander though artists’
studios, workshops and craft and gift shops,
such as the
Himalaya Shop
next to the cafe
with its gorgeous imports from India and Nepal.
After 20 years in business, owners Rob and
Anette have built quite a reputation, attracting
shoppers from all over NZ.
“We spend every winter overseas personally
selecting the stock”, said Rob. “And we know
how to negotiate to keep your purchase price
low.” One happy female shopper exclaimed
that she’d be back – pleased she was able to
purchase three gorgeous dresses for what one
would have cost in Auckland.
Another great dining spot is the
Hereford ‘n’ A
Pickle
, which may seem like an odd name but
once you enter the shop you will see why.
Kaye and Roy Ward run the Kairaumati Polled
Hereford Stud Farm in the Colville Valley. The
beef off the farm is sold in the family shop and
is showcased in their AWESOME Pure Hereford
Beef Burgers, which along with their home
made cakes, biscuits, sandwiches, hot chips,
real fruit ice creams and delicious coffee, can
be enjoyed in their garden seating and picnic
area overlooking Mt Moehau. Homemade jams,
pickles, chutneys and honey are also for sale.
If you do decide to ‘stay awhile’, check in to the
Colville Motel
, the Peninsula’s northern-most
motel and motorcamp, with stunning views
across the shoreline.
