4 JANUARY 2017,

PAUANUI

BRING THE ENTIRE FAMILY

Join the fun and festivities in Kennedy Park,

Pauanui on Wednesday 4 January 2017. The

Great Outdoors Expo – the only one of its kind

on the peninsula – will showcase the latest

offerings from up to 90 local and national

suppliers. And, this free admission, fun-for-

families event benefits the local Hikuai School,

the organiser of the annual event.

“The Expo is a reflection of the wonderful

family culture that permeates the school”,

explains the primary school’s principal Jared

Stein. “Everyone comes together to stage the

Expo and then experience its success.”

Proceeds from the Expo have been used

to revitalise the school’s computer

infrastructure, with a very good ratio of

laptops-to-children available in all classrooms

to support their e-learning.

EXPLORE THE EXPO! SHOP, EAT & PLAY

Whilst mums and dads are checking out the

numerous exhibits, entertainment for kids of

all ages will be plentiful. Golf and a bouncy

slide for younger kids, and Bumper Ball for

the older ones. And who can resist a

mechanical surfboard?

Attendees can check out exhibits and browse

pop-up stores to find services and products

relating to marine/sport/leisure activities and

outdoor patio environments. And of course,

plenty of delicious food will also be available.

Expo coordinator Sarah Steinemann tells us,

“Many wait till the Expo to buy their new bike,

SUP or outdoor lounge furniture, enjoying the

novelty of a city retail experience directly at

the beach. You’ll see the latest innovations

and even try out new things.”

Now in its third year, even though some

exhibitors are regulars, visitors are always

guaranteed something new – such as viewing

the newest in caravan design, jet skis, e-bikes,

outdoor ovens, heaters and fireplaces plus

loads of water toys.

“Last year’s Expo was the perfect opportunity

to launch our new ‘Outdoors Covered’

endeavour direct to our target market.” shares

Rachael Lee of Whitianga’s Guthrie Bowron.

“Based on the positive response and success,

we are coming with both businesses this year.”

KEY EXHIBITORS AND RAFFLE

SPONSORS MAKE IT ALL HAPPEN

“Our 4 main exhibitors are key to the event

being able to take place,” says Mark Milmine,

School Chairman and Expo founder. “Danske

Mobler, Family Boats and Hunting & Fishing

have been involved from the outset, with

Jayco/South Auckland Caravans joining as the

4th major exhibitor in 2016.”

Generous businesses have donated prizes for

the huge raffle. Will you be the lucky one going

home with with the BeefEater BBQ sponsored

by Richardsons Pauanui? Other prizes include

accommodation & restaurant packages

from Puka Park Resort, an Open-Water Dive

Package from DiveZone Whitianga, and others

from Hutchwilco, Danske Mobler, Supervalue

Pauanui and A2Z Timber.

Raffle tickets are on sale Labour Weekend until

the draw in the afternoon on Expo day. It’s not

necessary to be present to claim your prize.
