It is such a joy to work collaboratively
with
individuals and groups that share a common
vision, rather than in competition. It is a
method where everyone is the winner in
the end with no losers. One such delightful
collaboration over the years has been with
Destination Coromandel, reminding everyone
just how ‘good for the soul’ the Coromandel
really is. The ‘Explore The Coromandel’ section
in this issue is another successful example.
Perhaps you can assist us in our search. Do
you know someone who might wish to take
the reigns of this established magazine and
continue to serve the Coromandel community
in the years to come? Someone to care for
and look after this life-style magazine that
represents Our ‘Coromandel Life’? Please
phone me to discuss getting involved.
The journey of discovering the treasures of the
peninsula never ends with so many more to
find and share – more fascinating people, more
artworks, more products, more history and
more magnificent scenery.
It’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s creative! And thank all
of you for joining us on this adventure!
Have a very happy holiday season!
I’m sure we are all pleased to have emerged
from our winter cocoons and at last be
enjoying this lovely spring weather.
This season symbolises beginnings, and as
we start our 10th year of publication, it is the
perfect time for reflection. I feel blessed to
have not only lived in this beautiful paradise,
but found work that connected me to it daily to
learn, appreciate and explore its many gems.
It has been a joy and an honour to produce
PakuViews
and
Coromandel Life
over the
years, however it is now time to pass the torch
to another passionate soul
.
It gave me pause when I recently heard
someone comment that no one on their
deathbed ever said, “I wish I’d worked harder”.
I was gifted another ‘chance at life’ after my
cancer recovery, and I was advised it wasn’t
given so that I could work harder – been there,
done that! It’s a bit beyond the time to step
back and focus on my health and well-being.
Although I must say that most aspects of
producing this magazine haven’t felt like work
– the delight of creating and birthing each
new issue, the fascinating people I’ve met, the
fabulous places discovered, and the talented
team I’ve worked with. It has been a ‘labour of
love’ loaded with satisfaction.
