Photo coutesy of Dan May Photography

Sarah shared what led her to

Coromandel

Life.

“We lived in Zurich, and my husband,

Dan went to watch the All Blacks at a city

pub. He bumped into Roger Harwood (on

an extended stay with his Swiss partner,

Diana). Our Hikaui property came up in

conversation and Roger announced he was

from the area. He gave us a copy of the first

edition of

PakuViews

with Paula McNeill’s

art on the cover. We were both really

impressed with the magazine then – and still

are! Hence my enthusiasm to be involved.”

It was great to hear about the magazine

travelling around the world, and even better

that it led such a capable and skilled person

to us.

We welcome back with open arms Matt

Hishon, the person that designed that very

first PakuViews – and the rest of the issues

for the next three years. He’s full of great

ideas for the magazine and I’m sure you’ll

enjoy the creative stamp he puts on this and

future issues.

Have a very happy Spring and a merry

holiday season!

A

fter such a wet winter extending into

our spring, it was a joy to wake up

today to not only clear skies and sun but

warm temperatures as well. I love Spring

in New Zealand – the huge variety of plant

and tree life means an intensity of colour

bursting forth everywhere. Time for us to

come out of hibernation and experience the

splendour of ‘Coromandel Life’!

As I sign off the last pages for press, I

was inundated at sunset with the pungent

lovely aroma of jasmine and later enjoyed a

fabulous moonrise over Paku Mt – what a

blessing to be alive! It just doesn’t get much

better and I choose to believe these are

signs of good things ahead.

Labour Weekend marks the preparation

for the coming Summer – servicing the

boat, cleaning up the bach, last minute

renovations, or just having a good time.

Check out our calendar for numerous

festivals planned throughout the season.

And be sure to meet Santa at various local

parades and events.

WELCOME ABOARD

We’ve been very fortunate to have several

valuable team members since starting the

magazine over eight years ago, and we are

delighted to introduce yet another. Multi-

talented Sarah Steinemann is now our new

office manager.
