The north end of the bay is defined by
Opito Point, with its remains of a Maori
pa. The site is a 10 minute walk along
the beach from the car park.
This remote location offers a lot MORE
of LESS. Less light pollution, so one
can fully inhale the spectacle of the
heavens. Matapuau Bay Road will
lead south to the even more remote
beaches of Matapuau Bay.
