with talk at 12 midday. “This exhibition is a
reflective look back into the past. Some works
are even a patchwork of different memories
blended together in colour. The colours of the
rainbow.... And the pot of gold is the land I

SPORT- XTERRA Trail Challenge Waihi
Karangahake Gorge. For everyone, casual
weekly walkers to the slightly more serious
competitive runners. An awesome day on the
trails!
FESTIVAL- Tairua’s 2nd Beer Festival Punters
Bar & Grill, 10am R18, Gourmet, Wine Beers
from NZ and the world. Free food. 3 music
acts throughout the day!

ART- ARTWaikino Waikino Hall. An annual
art exhibition including paintings, craft,
photography and sculpture. Gold coin entry –
all proceeds to the upkeep of the community
hall.

FESTIVAL- Tangiaro
Kiwi Spring Festival
Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat,
Port Charles, 11am-
5pm. Fun family friendly day out! Variety of
stalls, food, drink, local wine & beer & all
day live entertainment. Featuring Waylon
McPherson, a solo acoustic guitarist and
singer.

HALLOWEEN- Thames Haunted House
Thames Rugby & Sports Club, 445A Ngati
Maru Highway, Thames. Fri times: 5:30-
7:30pm and 8-10pm. Sat times: 3-6pm and
7-10pm. Thames Haunted House holds a
fundraising exercise for a worthy cause by
hosting a Haunted House for Halloween. This
year we are fundraising for Keenan Alexander,
a local rugby player who was seriously injured
in August. Entry: $5, door sales only.
SAT 29 OCT
ENTERTAINMENT- Paeroa Lions Fire Works
Display 5pm-9:30pm Food, drink and
carnivals rides will all be available on site.
admission $15 for a family of 2 adults and 2
children. No alcohol, personal fireworks, pets
or bicycles allowed on the grounds.
SPORT- K2 Road Cycle Classic Race starts in
Tairua and travels in an anticlockwise direction
through Whitianga, Coromandel, Thames and
back to Tairua. Scenic and varied traveling
through sub-tropical forest, Pacific coastlines,
rural farmland and the Puhutakawa coastline
of the Hauraki Gulf – total 192km.

burlesque, art exhibits and lectures. A full
weekend of punky mischief. Get your gear

ENTERTAINMENT- Ice Skate Tour Parawai
School, Lowe Ave, Thames. Weekdays 3-8pm,
Saturday 10am-5pm. A great, safe & fun way
to get active – also an activity kids can do
