Passing the torch at Tairua Info Centre
Past Manager Lynette Dey has moved on and
was pleased to pass the Info Centre torch into
the capable hands of Rowena Brown, already
well known to many here in Tairua.
Lynette has been appointed to a position
leading international marketing for Destination
Coromandel. She’ll definitely be missed, but
we’re pleased that her many promotional skills
will not be lost to the Coromandel.
Rowena is a great match for the manager’s
position. We know first hand what a valuable
multi-talented person she is. Rowena was
instrumental in getting PakuViews magazine
(the forerunner to Coromandel Life) off the
ground and was not on
marketing, but in her writing as well.
She also has experience in the hospitality
industry (owning and managing the local
Manaia Restaurant for several years) and public
relations both overseas and locally.
Rowena’s innate connection to what’s
happening in town will prove a great asset
in her new position as Tairua’s major event
planner. Her enthusiasm and passion is
contagious and will surely ‘ignite’ the great
team of knowlegeable volunteers at the Centre.
